St Lonio’s Church: Memorial Inscriptions Of The Past

I was born in Llandinam and so, over my lifetime, St Llonio’s and its churchyard have been part of my life. In years gone by our church figured much more in village life, as a place of worship, Christian festival, of marriage, christening and burial. For each of the headstones and graves in the churchyard there is a story, many now are forgotten. However, as St Llonio ‘s celebrates 1,500 years of worship on a wooded bank above the river Severn, I have in
this book, sought to set down those stories known to me, or told to me, to bring life back to the churchyard for here, buried, is a history of the village and its families, going back centuries.
